Reviews Overview

Most Liked

Patrons rave about the consistently fresh fish, particularly the cod, which is always juicy and tender beneath its crispy batter. Many also appreciate the generous portion sizes, ensuring no one leaves hungry. The delicious chips are perfectly fried, achieving just the right amount of crispness. Regulars cherish the community feel fostered by the attentive owner, who often remembers orders and preferences. The menu’s diversity includes not only fish and chips but also kebabs and burgers, appealing to a broader audience. Lastly, affordability stands out as a significant highlight, with meals priced between £1 and £10, making it accessible for everyone.

Most Disliked

Some customers note a desire for delivery options, wishing they could enjoy the food without venturing out. A few reviews mention that the shop can occasionally have a wait during busy times, particularly during lunch and dinner rushes. While most find the portions generous, there are a handful of comments suggesting that some meals might not always meet the expectations for quantity. The absence of online ordering can be frustrating for tech-savvy eaters looking for convenience. Additionally, a few patrons expressed a wish for more variety in the fish options available, despite the core offerings being superb.

I’ve been coming to Saucy Kipper Fish Bar since I was a young boy, and it has remained one of my go-to spots for fish and chips in London. The quality has always been top-notch, with perfectly crispy batter, fresh fish, and generous portions that keep me coming back. The place has that classic, old-school charm that you don’t find in many chippies anymore. Whether it’s their traditional fish and chips or other menu options, they always get it right. The only thing I wish is that they would start offering delivery on food apps—it would make life so much easier, especially on those nights when I’m craving their food but don’t feel like heading out. Still, it’s worth the trip every time. A proper fish bar that has stood the test of time!

I have been going to this shop since I was a little girl. 50 years ago the Chips were 7p a portion. Don't live in the area no more but some of my family still does. Can't recommend this place enough, best chip shop in the whole of the UK. My children and grandchildren go here. When they think of my mum, this is place is one of the Happy memories. Please go here and not only enjoy the fish and chips but experience a glowing atmosphere. Not enough stars to recommend my positivaty about this great place.

I have been going to this fish and chip shop for donkeys years. The staff are very friendly and are always happy to give you the best service. The fish and chips are amazing and very generalist portions. I find it very difficult to grasp comments such as small portions as over many years of coming to this fish shop I have never encountered a problem. I would highly recommend.
